Material
Crafted from high-quality porcelain clay, fired with semi-matte glaze, and finished with high-quality ceramic transfers.
Craftsmanship Process
Our beaker cups undergo a meticulous three-stage firing process. We start by press-molding the clay body and applying a delicate, semi-matte eggshell glaze with light speckles. The inside of each cup is first hand-sprayed with glaze, followed by two careful spray applications on the exterior to achieve a smooth, creamy finish. Artisans then meticulously hand-transfer a screen-printed pattern around the cup. After an initial firing, illustrations and the Poppy & Pepper brand stamp are added, and the cup is fired once more to complete the process.
Design
Our beaker cup resembles a tall version of a traditional Chinese teacup, the Harmony Cup, with an inward-tilting edge and elevated foot. Each cup is decorated with a group of flowers and a cute insect. All illustrations are framed in a round ‘window’ shaped by delicate patterns.

Note: Our ceramic wares were photographed in studio lighting, so the warmth of the glaze may appear differently under various lighting conditions. Due to the natural flow of the glaze, speckles may concentrate in some areas more than others, and their quantity may vary from piece to piece. Variations in glaze application, from hand-dipping to spraying, as well as slight differences in pattern and illustration placement, highlight the handcrafted nature of Poppy & Pepper ceramics and are part of their unique charm.

Care
Dishwasher, microwave and oven safe with care.
Ideally wares should not touch each other in dishwasher to prevent scratches on glaze.
Sudden temperature change, such as from oven to cold bench, or from freezer to oven, may cause thermal shock and damage your wares. Always place cold dish onto the wire rack in oven and place hot dish on cloth or wooden surface.
Due to the nature of the semi-matte glaze, prolonged contact with harsh metal utensils may leave consistent marks on the surface of glaze. We recommend using wooden or high-quality metal utensils.
